USA TAX / TARIFFS

USA TAX / TARIFFS

As of the 29th August 2025 the rules for importing goods in the USA change.

IF BUYING ON THE SHOP AND SHIPPING TO THE USA THIS APPLIES TO YOU!

Basically the old system where goods with a total value of under $800 were free of duty will be replaced by new rules where duty is due on everything.

Sim Racing Machines has always left customs / duty to our customers for countries outside the EU.  With the change in the USA we feel it would be better to start charging duties upfront for the USA and shipping goods as taxes paid (DDP).

What does this mean for you?

If you purchase from the SRM shop and your shipping address is in the United States of America you will start to see Tax (VAT) applied to your order.

  • SRM charge you the customs / Duties / Tariffs that will be charged on entry to the USA
  • SRM will ship the goods as DDP - Duty paid
  • The shipping courier will charge the customs to SRM once the US government make the charges
  • You will get your goods with no extra duties to pay (You may still have to pay local sales taxes depending on your state)

By implementing this change everything will be more transparent, you will know before placing an order, how much it will cost you.  DDP shipping should also be quicker as there is no delay while the courier asks you to pay charges levied by the US Government.

SRM are making these changes to try and help even though it makes things more complicated for us.
