Description

Parts to allow fitting the new Fanatec QR2 to older Fanatec wheels.

Please tell me which wheel you are going to use this on in order notes so I can include the correct Pin Plug Cable.

  • Universal Hub V1
  • Porsche 918 RSR
  • BMW GT2 V1
  • Formula Black
  • Formula Carbon
  • F1 E-Sports V1

This is not a part specifically designed for this purpose, it is actually from my Emulator range of products, but it also works for this function.  Thanks to this video you can see how. https://youtu.be/9XJ2L3L45tM?si=sI7-k3y0KNBG4g4o

You will need to open your steering wheel to fit this.

Very high quality parts made of Black Anodised aluminium.  The new pin plug is my own replacement using Automotive grade pins that are far less likely to break that the original Fanatec ones.

Great product and got the job done in the end. Something to note: there are multiple patterns of screw holes in almost same PCD. This could have been marked or instructed somewhere to avoid confusion. Second thing: If you install all the stuff, as I understand it is intended, this will add about 30mm of spacer to your wheel. This was too much for me, so I figured out that you can actually install just the flange with the connector straight to the BMW GT2 V1 wheel, but this is even more involved DIY – requires cutting of some of the rear plastic, the flange, making new holes to the back plate of the wheel and doing threads for them, figuring out how to mount the grounding. If you are capable of doing this I’m quite sure you will figure it out yourself, definitely not plug and play. But o’boy does the wheel feel better than ever now with the QR2 installed, sturdy and absolutely no play 🙂

Excellent product and worked great when converting my BMW v1 wheel over to QR2. Great wheel disassembly instructions as well. As noted, be careful when removing the fanatec screws as they can be locked in tight.

Great product! I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the parts. I converted my BMW GT2 v1 wheel to QR2. As Neil already said for the 918 RSR wheel, it’s a bit fiddly, but manageable. Be careful with the cables that connect the shifters to the PCB! You may need to use a pair of pliers to unplug them. And also be careful when removing the glue that holds the flat cable in place – this was the most scary part. Just be patient and don’t pull up, I used a twisting motion with pliers to get it off in small pieces. The re-assembly of the wheel with the adapter was easy.

Everything you need but the QR to convert older Fanatec wheels. I did my 918 RSR wheel. Its a bit fiddly but doable. Great if you have an older Fanatec wheel that you want to move forward with the QR2. Very nice quality parts
